Gippy Grewal is a Singer and Actor of Punjabi Film Industry. He was born in family of Jat Sikh on 2nd of January 1983 in Koom Kalan village near Ludhiana. His original name is Rupinder Singh Grewal.He holds a degree of Hotel Management but decide to quite that field to join Punjabi Film Industry. He is very famous due to his lovely voice that he puts into his songs.

He came in to lime light with his very first Punjabi music album ‘Phulkari’ which was a great hit and broke the record of many other Punjabi music albums. He started his career as an actor in 2010 with Punjabi movie ‘Mel Karasde Rabba’. In 2011, he received ‘PTC Best Actor Award’ for his perfect performance in super hit Punjabi movie ‘Jihne Mera Dil Luteya. In 2012, he received ‘PIFAA Best Actor Award’ along with Diljit Dosanjh. At PTC Award 2013, Gippy Grewal won the ‘Best Actor(Critics) Award’ for his role in Punjabi movie ‘Mirza-the Untold Story’. He also won the ‘Most Popular Star’ Award.

Gippy started his career as a singer with the album ‘Chakk Lai’ which became success and he came in to fame in Punjabi Film Industry. His album was produced by Aman Hayer which made him a Star and the album became highest selling Punjabi album. From then he kept on putting steps on stairs of success with his other music albums like ‘Nasha’, ‘Phulkari, ‘Phulkari 2 Just Hits’ and ‘Ganster’. His song ‘Angreji Beat’ from Punjabi album International Villager in collaboration of Yo-Yo Honey Singh became a blockbuster track of Music Chart. He also sung a for Bollywood movie Cocktail staring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. In 2013, he released his new single ‘Hello Hello’ was made everyone groove on it.

He decided to become actor in 2010 and made his debut in Punjabi Film ‘Mel Karade Rabba’ in opposite of Jimmy Shergill and Neeru Bajwa. Then, he played a role in superhit Punjabi movie ‘Jihne Mera Dil Luteya’ with Diljit Dosanjh. In April 2012, he played a role in Punjabi movie ‘Mirza-The Untold Story’ in opposite of Punjabi actress Mandy Takahar. The movie made a great opening at the time of release. After that, his next movie was ‘Carry on Jatta’ that released on July 2012 in whicgh is was pared with Bollywood actress Mahie Gill. In 2013,

Gippy worked for ‘Singh Vs Kaur’ that released on 15th of February 2013. His work in the movie was very well aprriciated ans was termed as ‘first action hero of Punjab’. On 26th of April 2013, his next Punjabi movie was released titled ‘ Lucky Di Unlucky Story’ which was directed by Smeep Kang and was released under his own home production Gurfateh Film and Sippy Grewal Producstions. Then he worked in Punjabi movie ‘Best of Luck’ in opposite of Simran Mundi, Miss India Universe 2008.

About Gippy Grewal’s personal life, he was married to Ravneet Kaur and he is blessed with two loving sons named Ekomkar Singh Grewal and Gurfateh Singh Grewal. He also has his own home production on his younger son’s name called ‘Gurfateh Films’. His elder brother Sippy Grewal produced his Punjabi movie ‘Carry on Jatta’.

Gippy has also dubbed for Punjabi version of Hollywood movie ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’. He has given his voice for Jai Courtney’s Character. This is the first ever Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Punjabi.
