AAP expands state unit, names 9 VPs

Chandigarh, September 28
Facing dissension in the party with former state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur set to form his own group, the Aam Aadmi Party today expanded its organisational structure in the state.

Announcing new appointments, party convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi said the party had appointed nine new vice-presidents and five joint secretaries.

All appointees were from Punjab with the party hoped that the claims that the Delhi team was running the state unit's affairs would fall flat.

Among the newly-appointed vice-presidents are Col CD Singh Kamboj, Dr Balbir Singh Saini, Baldev Singh Azad, Boota Singh Ashant, Col CM Lakhanpal, Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjeer, Mohan Singh Phalianwala, Mehar Singh Malli and Dalbir Singh Dhillon.

Major Singh, Varinder Singh Khara, Harinder Singh Amritsar, Lalit and Dr Sarika Verma are the joint secretaries. Jaideep Singh Samrala has been appointed the head of the volunteer welfare and management wing. Presently, he is working as the national joint secretary of AAP.
