Army Chief General Manoj Pande and his wife Archana Pande prayed at Amritsar's Golden Temple on Sunday.
He listened to 'Shabad Kirtan' in the VIP enclosure of the sanctum sanctorum before offering his prayers at the Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs. Pande was presented with a set of Sikh religious books, a replica of the Golden Temple, and shawls by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee officials at the Golden Temple's information centre.
He wrote in the visitor's book before leaving the information centre, "I feel blessed to have the privilege of paying obeisance at the Golden Temple." I pray to the Almighty for the safety and health of army personnel of all ranks."
