Police said on Sunday that a 40-year-old ex-armyman shot his father in a fight over replacing an air conditioner in their home in Jalal Chak village here.
Saturday night, Amarjeet Singh fired a licenced 12 bore rifle at his father Veer Singh. Veer Singh was taken to the Dasuya civil hospital, from which he was referred to a hospital in Amritsar, according to police.
According to police, Amarjeet Singh was arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and the Arms Act.
