Bir Devinder Singh, the former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, died on Friday at the PGI Chandigarh.
He was 73.

He was being treated at the PGI.
According to close acquaintances of the former Congressman, he was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. Between 2003 and 2004, he served as the deputy speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
The two-term Congress MLA initially represented Sirhind and then Kharar constituencies. After being dismissed from the Congress in 2016, he joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) in 2019.
