LUDHIANA: Members of the Petroleum dealers association, Ludhiana on Tuesday paid homage to the 18 martyrs of Uri terror attack by keeping the operations of their petrol pumps shut down from 2:00-2.30 in the afternoon on Tuesday.
Majority of the 300 odd association members also displayed banners at their outlets and paid homage to the armymen who lost their lives during the attack which took place on 18thSeptember. Giving more details Ashok Sachdeva,chairman of the petroleum dealers association said, "We decided to close down our pumps and observe two minutes of silence today in memory of the bravehearts who died protecting us.
We highly condemn this attack which was carried out by the anti-India forces and we urge our government to take such an action against the perpetrators so that an example is set and no one dares to repeat such cowardly act" Others present during the mourning included, Ranjit Gandhi,Bobby Chabra,Gurdev Gill and Manjeet Singh.
